International Surfer Support
Local international surfer Ben “Skindog” Skinner has donated £2000.00 to the late Newquay toddlers “Joe Way Appeal”.
Matt Way said “We are really grateful for Ben’s support which has been right from the start of Joe’s appeal and the guys at Skindog surfboards have been a really support to the whole family. We cannot thank them enough”.
Ben’s team at Skindog surfboards along with Skinners ales raised £800 at the Skindog surf and Flowrider camp during this years Boardmasters on Hendra Holiday Park.
The surf camp was a Mecca for surfing families who also enjoyed the Flowrider with some great exhibitions of skill from Ben. Over August Skinners Ales donated kegs of Skindog Ale which campers tasted and where then invited to make a donation during the weekly BBQ’s.
£1200.00 was also raised at Ben’s ETL longboard event in association with O’Neill, the three star event was a great success and only in its second year is set to get bigger and bigger.
Ben Said “It’s been a real privilege to represent and support Joe’s appeal and this year we where able to donate £1200.00 to the Matthew Upsher foundation who was a close friend of mine. I’ve also competed in Japan in the world longboard tour and after the disaster there we decided to buy a shelter box to help in disaster areas which are often surf destinations that we all travel to and we have also donated to The Precious lives appeal to support Cornwall’s first children’s hospice”.
Ben Skinner has just returned from competing in Morocco and was crowned European champion to add to his huge list of titles.
