Newquay Hosts UK's Only Santa Surf & Fun Run
There won’t just be one Santa coming to Fistral beach this year but a whole sea of them; and this year they will be running and surfing to raise funds for a local charity.
The Santa Surf and Fun run is, organized by the Fistral Surf Center, Cornwall Hospice Care and the Joe Way Appeal. Matt Way, from the Joe Way Appeal said, "We are stoked to be invited to this event for the second year running and look forward to the Newquay community putting on a good show and raising money for a great cause."
You can run, jog or walk along the fun run across Fistral beach, which starts at 11am, and then enjoy some mince pies whilst watching the surfers.
The surfing Santa's will be competing to win some great prizes and the "Santa Foamie Surfing Contest", which starts at 12.30pm, is all about having fun. There will be an open division for men & women alongside an U16's division which see all the competitors wearing Santa outfits over their wetsuits.
Jenny Briant, surf event organizer said, "Last year's event was so much fun with a real mix of abilities and ages, we cannot wait to see hundreds of Santa's taking over the beach."
